Hello! Welcome to my website. My name is Bang (pronounced bong). I am a political scientist with a Ph.D. in Political Science and an M.S. in Statistics from UCLA. I am currently a postdoctoral fellow at the Annette Strauss Institute for Civic Life in the Moody College of Communication at the University of Texas at Austin. Previously, I was a postdoctoral associate in the School of Government and Public Policy at the University of Arizona.
In broad terms, my research interests revolve around the intersection of race and ethnic politics, public opinion, political psychology, and statistical modeling. Specifically, my substantive research focuses on the political psychology of immigrant and minority groups. I examine their political attitude formation, the acquisition of partisanship, and explore how these groups are integrated into party politics. Methodologically, I specialize in covariance structure analysis, structural equation modeling, and psychometrics. These statistical techniques allow me to examine the relationships among variables and uncover underlying structures in complex data sets. Thank you for visiting my website, and feel free to explore further to learn more about my research and academic pursuits. |
